Pregnant and scared of germs?

Pets can spread infection
All animals carry germs. Illnesses common among house pets — such as distemper, canine parvovirus, and heartworms — can't be transmitted to humans.

But pets also carry certain bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi that can cause illness if transmitted to their owners. Owners get these animal-borne diseases when they're scratched or have contact with an animal's waste, saliva, etc...

They're of greatest concern to young children, infants, pregnant women, and people whose immune systems have been compromised by illness or disease. Infants and kids younger than 5 years old are at risk because their immune systems are still developing, and some infections that might make an adult just mildly sick can be more serious for them.

Natural ingredients in Medipod Foot Repair Cream part 2

This past Saturday we celebrated #EarthHourZA and made a pledge to
#UpCycleCans not only is here a picture of our pledge we also want to
inform you of the natural ingredients in Medipod Foot Repair Cream.

One of our ingredients in Medipod Foot Repair Cream is Vitamin E:

With the outdoor environment we always expose our skin to wind, air
conditioners, indoor heating system, etc... Dry skin will eventually lead to flaky skin, it makes our skin look dull and lifeless. It will also
cause the skin to develop micro cracks and flakes, which will let
foreign objects in the air, bacteria and various forms of harmful
irritants to damage our skin.

This is what vitamin E is for, to provide ample nutrients and keep the skin healthy and beautiful.

How it works:
When creams and lotions containing vitamin E is topically applied on
the skin, the alpha-tocopherol form slips through the epidermis down
into the skin cells. When it’s inside the skin tissue, they start to be
converted into free tocopherol, a known antioxidant, which helps the
skin get rid of toxins and make it healthy.

There are also specific formulations of vitamin E skin care products that are best for special type of skin care treatments, such as targeting skin areas prone to dryness, such as hands and
heels. Some formulations are even used for scar reduction and
even stretch marks. Lotions with vitamin E are good for protecting your
skin from the harmful UV rays from the sun.

Making Medipod Foot Repair Cream effective to rid these skin conditions:
  • Dryness
  • Dehydration
  • Inflammation

One of our ingredients in Medipod Foot Repair Cream is Urea:

It is an important component of skin
moisturization, which is naturally found in youthful skin but starts
to deplete as we age. Urea is a girls best friend, especially if you have dry, depleted skin, that often feels like it is one size to small.

Urea makes up about 8.5% of our skins natural moisturizer.
When our skin is exposed to low humidity and harsh environmental conditions, the water content in the skin tissues is reduced therefore we need to replace this moisture in harsh conditions.

60% of people suffer from skin infections of the feet, and/or toenails. These can also affect other parts of the body. Fungi and bacteria cling to materials causing odour. FungiSolve stops reinfection in Athlete’s foot… etc which are trapped in your sports gear.

“In each of the last three years, more MRSA-infected people have checked into the hospital than either HIV-positive or influenza-afflicted patients, combined”

- Men’s Health

“All athletes are predisposed to the bug because they have close contact with one another in locker rooms. They share equipment, and, of course, collision sports lead to abrasions and open the skin, which provides a portal of entry for bacteria.”

Runner's feet

After recently setting up a FREE Foot Massage tent at the  Milkwood Run, we realised that alot of runners don't look after there feet. They want to be pampered but possible don't have the time.

Here's a bit of knowledge on how fungal infections start:
A fungal nail infection generally starts out as a slight yellowish tinge to the nail, or even a white spot. But as the fungus begins to spread and mature, it can turn a yellow, green or even black colour. Because the nail is designed to be strong, removing an infection from the nail bed can be tricky.

Prevention:

  1. Drying thoroughly between your toes after a bath or shower is a good idea.
  2. It's also worth keeping your nails trimmed - cut straight across (especially for runners), not going too close to the skin.
  3. Shoes that allow your feet to breathe and your toes to wiggle prevent the conditions that fungus thrives in.
  4. Use Medipod Foot Repair Cream, it is a 2 minute a day spa in a tube. The 4 in 1 Foot Repair Cream  will keep your feet smooth and provides a 24h protection from bacteria and fungus.
  5. Wash your shoes in FungiSolve, 60% of people suffer from skin infections of the feet, and/or toenails. FungiSolve stops reinfection in Athlete's foot.
Symptoms:

Early on, the fungal organisms (dermatophytes) create a white spot or yellow tinge to the nail, usually on the top or at its side. The nail can then grow thicker before starting to crumble away.
